Summary

Bivalves. Rouded-triangular valves with concentric sculpture of erect lamellae and secondary concentrics. Up to 12 mm in length. Offshore to deep water species from the southern Caribbean.

To be confused with

- Resembles the eastern Pacific Pleurolucina leucocymoides. The sculpture of broad radial folds is less pronounced and the commarginal lamellae are more widely spaced and prominent.

Characteristics

Size: 12 mm.
Colour: Yellowish white.
Shape: Rounded-triangular. Moderately inflated valves. Prosogyrate umbos projecting above the shell body.
Sculpture: concentric sculpture of erect lamellae with numerous secondary concentrics in each interspace; and prosogyrate umbos projecting above the shell body.  Three anterior sulci and one posterior sulcus reaching from beaks to ventral margin

Habitat environment and ecology

BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.

Distribution range

An offshore to deep water species (to 300 m) from the southern Caribbean.
