Summary

Saltwater Hydroids, common in shallow tropical reefs,  locations with abundant water movement. The branches are brown to pale, creamy yellow, with white tips.

To be confused with

- Blade Fire Coral Millepora Complanata.

Characteristics

Size:  Maximum height of 50cm
Colour: Brown to pale, creamy yellow, with white tips.
Shape: Start with encrustations then develop into plates or blades, then a branched, cylindrical structure.
Etc: Cnidarian stinging cells can be painful to human skin.


Habitat environment and ecology

 Tropical and sub-tropical waters.
