Summary

Sponges. Rather soft and fluffy orange to orange-yellow cushions with weblike texture. Surface with small knobs with scattered and membranous exhalant openings.

To be confused with

- Prosuberites laughlini. (A Thickly encrusting, bright orange sponge, with a rather uneven and rough surface, with scattered oscules having an elevated, transparent collar.)

Characteristics

Size: Diameter to 30 cm.
Colour: Orange.
Shape: Network shaped appearance with raised openings.
Consistency: Soft, fluffy.


Habitat environment and ecology

Reefs and hard bottoms from 5 to 25 m.

Distribution range

BES-eilanden: Bonaire, St. Eustatius.
