Summary
Bristle worm. Saltwater. Feather Duster Worms. This species lives on the
reef, usually where some current occurs.They grow as a mass of
individual small tubeworms, sometimes totaling over 100 individuals in a
single clump.
To be confused with
- Variegated Feather Duster Bispira variegata
Characteristics
Size: Whole animal up to 6 cm, crown up to 3 cm.
Colour: Colouration of the crown is highly variable, from white, to rosa,
brown, yellow with white tips, but seems to be constant within a region
of the area.
Shape: The crown of feather duster worms is composed of a series of feather-shaped rays called radioles.
Habitat environment and ecology
Inhabits reefs. This species lives on the reef, usually where some current occurs.

BES-eilanden: St. Eustatius.
