Summary

Soft-walled tubes are medium brown to tan to grayish brown with lighter interiors. Although the exterior can be somewhat lumpy or pitted, the surface texture tend to be quite smooth.

To be confused with

- Tubulate sponge Agelas tubulata.
The tubes usually arise from the base close to the substratum.

Characteristics

Size: Large, up to 1m high.
Colour:
Brow, pink, orange or green..
Shape: laterally fused tubes, running on branches or growing on one another, and usually arising from a single base, forming antlers or clubs. Often with darker zoanthids living on the skin. 
Constitution: Firm.


Habitat environment and ecology

Lives in protected crevices of reefs and walls.

Distribution range

BES-eilanden: Bonaire, St. Eustatius.
