Summary

A brain coral, recognizable by the groove on its broad meandering ridges.

To be confused with

- Rose coral Manicina areolata. (This species has less pronounced ridges).

Characteristics

Size:  Up to 1m 20 in diameter.
Coloor:  Yellow-brown to gray.
Shape: Hemispherical heads with a groove on its broad meandering ridges. 

Habitat environment and ecology

Inhabits seaward slope of reefs, down to 40 m.

Distribution range

BES-eilanden: Bonaire, St. Eustatius
