Summary

Smooth purplish, olive or reddish brown  fish, usually  with irregular black spots on the upper part of the body. 

Characteristics

Size:  Maximum 30 cm.
Color: Purplish, olive or reddish brown, irregular black spots.
Shape: Body elongated, with a forked tail

Habitat environment and ecology

Feeds in small to large groups, individuals may seek protection in reefs.
